Taking New Steps by Kevalin Absoluto |
Sometimes a shock or crisis arises in your life. Then it is resolved in some way. Things get smoothed over and you can go
forward in a positive way. There
is of course a period of recovery after, depending on the strength
and duration of the problem, the difficult challenge that arose. There is first the emergent difficulty,
then there is the immediate reaction as a state of crisis, then there
is the decision that resolves what must be done about it, and finally
there is the aftermath of self-repair, of regenerating positive living. This is the causal cycle of learning from
life, the “School of Hard Knocks”, as it is called. The causal self is the learner, the one
who is growing wiser over time through the ups and downs of destiny. It is this causal, karmic self, the Jeevatma, the self-who-is-living-the-life, who alternately
enjoys and suffers, works and is rewarded,
acts out and receives results. This self is generally the only self we
know as ourself. It
is this self who is born, who lives, who dies, who has an afterlife,
and who reincarnates in the causal planetary world where the causal
self has been keeping involved in all these active ups and downs of
situations and relationships. To go beyond all this causal involvement, all these karmic activities
and consequences, into the higher Divine world of Godself where constant
transcendental Being of Awareness and Bliss are the natural, spontaneous
state of non-dual oneness, freedom, omniscience and omnipotence, and
thus live as an immortal superhuman or newly self-realized God or Goddess
is the Supracausal Quest that
the ordinary problems and disappointments, the shocks and sufferings,
awakens in us. Then the things of self-reform, self-improvement,
sadhana, yoga, meditation, samadhi, higher psychic development and
so on become very interesting and increasingly employed as an attempted
prison-break or liberation from the ordinary causal sphere of inadequate
fulfillment and all too chronic problems, crises and sufferings coming
from abusive, phony, weak and unethical other people one has been karmicly tied-to, such as sex-partners we believe we cannot
live happily without or employers or employees who we believe are necessary
for our work and subsistence. The
basic needs for sex, food and clean, comfortable shelter tie us to
all sorts of difficult karmic lessons and extremely slow inner progress
in the development of our character and understanding. The
higher path leading beyond the cycles of painful bondage to unhappy,
neurotic, foolish and difficult people is not easy to find and unfold. Sometimes premature renunciations are
attempted, which can create surprisingly painful loneliness, futility
and a lack of Divine experiential bliss, power and knowledge. If one meditates deeply on the truth of both painful ordinary
relationships and the sorrows of isolation and deprivation, one discovers
a fundamental existential dilemma. How
one handles this dilemma will be decisive for one’s personal
and spiritual outcomes in life and in death. It
is precisely at this juncture that one must learn to take new steps
about oneself and one’s life-pattern. It
is critical to identify and take the right new steps, for these are
what has always been called, “Finding the Way” and “Traveling
the Way”. One of the most important new steps one can take is to get stronger
in detachment and higher awareness without resorting to artificial
external rejections or renunciations. Detachment
and higher awareness can and should be directly cultivated with and
in one’s consciousness. As you increasingly cultivate your inner detachment, you find
yourself able to accept certain kinds of familiar difficulty or challenge
without reacting in your old usual way. You
become more efficient and generous with others in processing your karmas
or fated turns of the Wheel of Destiny. As you increasingly cultivate your higher awareness, you begin
to get breakthroughs in consciousness as encouraging extraordinary
perceptions and the emergence of higher faculties of cognition and
action. You begin to develop, which is inevitable
and encouraging within genuine higher awareness. Things
that spontaneously arise there in the realms of the unknown beyond
prove very instructive. You
discover that you are becoming a cosmic shaman who is no longer conforming
to the outer society of dull, unmagical mediocrity
and pettiness. At the same
time, your increasing detachment frees you from wanting
to show-off or impress others with your extraordinary new nature. You learn to disguise your unusual activities
and meditations. Another new step is a deeper
and more poignant, energizing relationship with both your reading and
your writing which comprise the studious and creative functions of
your causal being in the world. You
become extremely selective in what you read as to what is most important
to develop further understanding. You
also become more deeply and powerfully focused as to what is worth
transmitting for the good of fresh new seekers coming up behind you. You
realize that you have an increasingly irreplaceable task of service
to the Way itself that goes beyond your own indispensable personal
development. You discover
a balance of
service and sadhana which has nothing whatsoever to do with attempting
to attract students or helpers to your teaching or your work. You simply realize that the Divine Power
always brings the students or helpers necessary for your renewing
of the Way. You never automatically
reject or accept anyone from your life or into your
life. This means your magical
circle of real inner will or intent is functioning properly. As a consequence, you find yourself drawn
to operate with increasing anonymity behind the scenes. You are no longer a potentially vainglorious
idiot with a messiah complex. Another important new step comes with you becoming more watchful
of your state of being, which includes your state of consciousness
and the level or quality of your energy and life-force. All
self-deception and unconscious drifting along with old habits must
be eliminated through a Fire-Of-Awareness. The
Fire-Of-Awareness in your own Godself is the most important gift the
Supreme Being, Parabrahman, has planted in
your Divine Spirit, Atman or Purusha, from
before time and causality began for you as a human being. The
more you recognize it and cultivate it within the core of your being
as your central Yoga, the more rapidly you will free yourself from
everything in your causal, subtle and physical bodies that have been
debilitating you and dragging you down. Your
innate Fire-Of-Awareness is your most important spiritual ability. Never
lose sight of this! Consume
all problems with cosmic fire of light! Teja-Bindu-Nada-Brahman-Chit-Shakti- Shivatmananda-Iccha-Jnana-Kriya- Paramakundalini-Shaktipat-Agniyoga |
