Thinking About Living
By Gabriel Chiron

Existential thinking is not so much about our abstract concepts of space and time as it is about our personal space and time of our quick passing of our life through our physical bodies in the material sensate world.  We need to think very deeply and carefully about the real meaning and purpose of our individual life and destiny, rather than as mere social units (they-selves) of this or that national collective or mass religion.  I choose to live thoughtfully whereas the masses, the they-selves, do not.  The choice to think is personal and voluntary.  Thoughtless, emotional social units do not choose to think and cannot be made to think.  The emergence of Existential philosophy was a cognitive revolution in human thinking that has never been and never will be truly understood or appreciated by any society on Earth, for it is not the nature of collective social units or they-selves to think for real in an originary manner.

Most so-called “philosophers” carrying on as professors in Western universities are themselves hapless social units, they-selves, who have only accumulated knowledge of what others (mostly of their own kind) have said.  They are all quoting one another to a shrinking audience of fewer and fewer students each year.  There is nothing much there of genuine originary thinking in the West or the East.  They have not yet had the Existential Awakening, which is something like Martin Heidegger plus Carlos Castaneda plus Gurdjieff plus a lot of other things in and around both philosophy and Personal Evolution or Self-Realization.  Their theories of thinking and learning are incomplete.  They understand next-to-nothing of say Edward de Bono or Idries Shah.  They have allowed themselves to be constrained to a narrow bandwidth of scientific materialism like poor Daniel Dennett and other pseudo-originary proponents of anti-existential automatonism.  Philosophy in the West has been phasing itself out because of science and in the East because of religion.

The entire thrust of early twenty-first century human cognition is against individual choice, against originary thinking and the renewal of culture in the truest sense of the term.  The stinking New World Order is an anti-ontological conspiracy taken up dumbly by the thoughtless masses of they-selves as a kind of mindless willingness to be collectively lobotomized by mass media propaganda.  You as an individual can and must rebel against this trend by engaging in your own most full, authentic and Resolute Existential Awakening of originary thinking about your life and death as a Being-in-the-world.  Your own personal, direct experiences and genuine thinking make up an irreplaceably unique learning process, a spiritual adventure in consciousness that cannot be fulfilled or even begun without creative intelligence.  This goes way beyond the binary logic of Parmenides or even the quadruple logic of Nagarjuna.  Real Philosophy is not about mechanical calculation ability of the human brain.  We can program computers to do that.  Computers can beat us at chess, but they cannot stand with us in originary thinking as self-aware individuals beyond the idle-talk and superficial curiosity of distracted social selves.

Can you do real thinking about your actual living and virtually inevitable death?  This means the activation of an existential initiative of supremely acute self-responsibility.  Can you go beyond having a mere abstract philosophy or rigid set of assumptions about general historical life of collective humanity toward forming a viable philosophy of your own living?  It is like the Jewish Hassidic issue as to whether your life is a “way” or not.  Do you understand this issue directly in and for yourself?

Most human beings are not really living at all.  You can observe this for yourself.  They are merely habit-ridden automatons of their local language and social norms.  Only the tiny minority who are doing Real Thinking are doing Real Living.  Only they are Existentially Awake Authentic Beings.  So the question is:  Are you unlimitedly aware of the full momentum of human life on all levels of itself?  In Samkhya philosophy, which is not a religion nor exclusively of India and its ancient sages, the Purusha, the truly aware inner Witness, can look fully and consciously upon all the movements and ignorant self-deceptions that comprise Prakrti, mechanical nature.  This is what J. Krishnamurti calls “choiceless awareness of what is”.  All mechanical forces at work, both internally in one’s own mind and body, as well as in the outer world and universe, are seen for what they are: mechanical forces, not aware action.  Aware action is a level of real function performed only by a Purusha, an Existential Awakened Authentic Self.  One of the real functions of aware action is originary thinking directed toward creative living and expression of an openly cosmic harmonious presence.  It is the next step in our evolution.  It is the next mutation of the human species as glimpsed by Sri Aurobindo, who was himself an originary thinker, if only in the most novice or beginner sense of it.  The Tibetan Sorcerer-Hero, Padma Sambhava, was also an example of this, which dramatically demonstrated that the stupid masses cannot cope well with the aware action of authentic, creative and magical individuals, Purushas.

Are you now awake and looking at the whole dynamic pattern of living within and all-around you?  Are you doing originary thinking as a concrete function of transcendental awareness?  Are you getting a glimpse of what it might mean to be a post-modern existential philosopher?  Do you feel the intellectual excitement and spiritual power of taking real steps in your consciousness about all this?  Are you now doing better thinking about your actual living?  Please do not revert to Christianity and die like a dog in the streets like poor Kierkegaard. Please do not crack yourself up and go mad like poor Nietzsche who wanted to be a brilliant leading they-self in the name-of originary thinking.  No!  Take it all the way.  Try reading Hakim Bey and Robert Anton Wilson and Rajneesh.  Get real.  The New Existentialism is only hinted at in Colin Wilson, only slightly introduced by Heidegger and Sartre, Castaneda and Chögyam Trungpa.  Read everything and think freely beyond the entire pattern of influences on the planet.  Liberate your intellect from all dogmatic fixations of the pitiful pseudo-thinkers of unregenerate humanity.  Refuse to have any limited cultural or regional identity on Earth or anywhere else for that matter.  Think beyond Whitley Strieber and his pathetic Aliens, beyond Barbara Marciniak and her silly Pleiadeans, beyond Courtney Brown and his ruthless Reptilians and ineffectual Little Greys.  Think beyond all sociological constraints on what might be worth thinking about.  Think about whatever is most real and alive for you personally to be thinking about.  Refuse to be bored or boring.

You know, there is something worth understanding in Heraclitus and Plato, in Plotinus and the Gnostics, in Kant and Hegel.  Get it all and move on.  Read Lawrence Durrell and Henry Miller.  Soak-up whatever nourishes your awakening Free Spirit.  A life without true Philosophy and creative living is no life at all.  If you are American or British, get out of those god-forsaken anti-existential hell-holes and come and live in Europe where there is real resistance to GM crops and global warming, where the New World Order has less power because people do not want to revert to National Socialism, Fascism or Totalitarian Marxist governments, where people know that American and British self-terrorism has nothing to do with Muslims, but is only there for creating debilitating police states that turn the thoughtless masses into worse robots than they already are.  Be a free thinker where free thinkers can still function.  Real thinking involves real living in real places with real people.  Escape from dead living in dead institutions.  Where there is a true will there is a true way.  Existential Resoluteness is an urgently necessary function of spiritual intent.
