The Koan:

        Every day Zuigan used to call out to himself, “Master!” and would answer, “Yes!”  Then he would tell himself, “Be totally awake!  Be totally awake!” and he would answer himself, “Yes! Yes!”  Then he would say to himself, “Don’t be deceived by others, any day or any time!” and he would again answer himself, “No! No!”

Comment:

     This koan is not for you!  Why is this?  Because you are the deceptive “other”, the stupid Guest, the Causal Karmic Social Self, and not the Host, the True Self-Nature of the empathetic One Superconsciousness or Buddhahood.  You are here under false motives.  You are here for social purposes and not the Dharma purpose.  The Dharma purpose is to be totally and truly Awake, Enlightened.

     Now, go away!  Leave this website, which is now spitting in your phony face!  You have no potential whatsoever!  You do not belong here!

     If you were here physically, I would beat you with my club or throw rocks at you!  You are not welcome and there is nothing I can teach you!  I am totally awake and cannot be deceived by you or other false readers of my Koan Commentaries!

Every morning, Zuigan would ask himself aloud, “Master, are you awake?”  And he would answer, “Yes,yes!”  Then he would ask himself, “Are you Superawake?”  And he would answer, “Yes,yes.”  Then he would say to himself, “Do not let these (two states) confuse you!”  And he would answer “No,no!”

Alternative commentary:

When most people wake up in the morning, only the surface emotional mind wakes up and not the causal consciousness or true intellect.  The average person remains unquestioning and spiritually asleep.  To be “awake” in terms of real questioning intelligence is the first or little awakening of “the true man in the heart”, which is the causal ego or full-blown Guest.  It is, however, only the status of a real individual or originary thoughtful philosopher.

To be Superawake is an awakening in the transcendental Self-nature beyond causality, conceptual thinking and timespace Ego or Guest.  It is the real Host.  Even if we are thoughtful and resolute authentic thinkers in the Heideggerian sense, we still need to ask ourselves, “Can I be Superawake?”

To distinguish between Causal Awakening and Supracausal Superawakening is the true discrimination between Guest and Host in Zen.  Zuigan was daily reminding his students of the ultimate issues of Zen that they should take up ever more originally and directly in their own thinking and higher meditation.

Outer socializing emotional people who merely gossip and try to dominate others about all this are not yet even Causally Awake as real and thoughtful individuals.  They are filled with their superficial desires and anxieties to the point that they are distracted and cannot think straight or do genuine inquiry of truth.  Living in constant hypnotic sleep, they cannot actually have real Zen Initiative or aspiration toward Superconscious Awakening or give real importance to the difference of Guest and Host.  That is why Zen Masters have always yelled insults at them and forced them to go away.  It is the only thing that might wake them up a little and make them think!  But in these times, self-appointed pseudo-Masters are always trying to coax all sorts of idiots to become followers.  In ancient times of Zen, the real awakened Masters were always yelling at visitors, beating them or acting in such a manner so as to get rid of the visitors and make them leave.  Try to understand why!

There is the physical body.  Within it is the subtle mind of dreaming, imagination and imitation Zen.  Within the subtle dream body is the causal body of consciousness.  Within the causal body is the supracausal body of the essence or substance of transcendental Buddhanature of Universal Superconsciousness, which is the Great Essence that can perform the Great Action of speaking or behaving in a way that can stimulate Awakening and Super-awakening in people who are receptive enough and mature enough to receive the Great Stimulation.

Universal Superconsciousness is Pure Self or Subject and not even a causal Object or thought-construct.  It is therefore not contained, controlled or realized by conceptual thinking, which Huang Po, for instance, repeatedly pointed out to his students.  But before we go beyond conceptual thinking, we have to first arrive at it as strong and authentic individuals who are not just repeating the words of others or clinging blindly to a religion, culture, nationality or social conditioning.  Zen is truly beyond Buddhism as such, as well as beyond Far Eastern culture as such.  Self-Nature is pure, clear, unconditional, nondual and beyond the claims and arguments of assertive causal egos, which are fundamentally nothing but false beings, mere hyperactive Objects trying to dominate and control other Objective pseudo-selves for fame, sex or money.  These kinds of social-psychological excitements, conflicts and disturbances are the general mental atmosphere of various Zen Web-forums, Sufi Web-forums, Castaneda Web-forums, Krishnamurti Web-forums and various Yoga Web-forums.  All these various Web-forums are just collections of ignorant attention-seekers entertaining themselves in a futile manner about various subjects of greater seriousness than most can perceive.  There is nothing to choose really between Zen socializers and Sufi socializers, for instance, or between Carlos Castaneda enthusiasts and Chögyam Trungpa enthusiasts.  All generally are fruitless assholes of little potential.  If you can see this, then do not behave like them!  Stop being a socializing asshole!  Wake up from emotional mind and develop some real thinking and transcendental aspiration!  If you have some real potential, make use of it before it is too late and another lifetime is wasted in trivial rubbish of ordinary conflicts, anxieties and fear of the evil government.  Stop identifying yourself with your body, mind or dualistic thinking consciousness.  Go for total Superawakening and do not settle for less!
