An Immortal does not
need this note
and a mortal cannot understand it,
so it is useless. However,
to perceive the uselessness of this note
might actually be useful for someone.
This is itself a potentially useful paradox,
which makes this note meta-useful even
for an Immortal. Perhaps Lu
Tung Pin will eventually enjoy this note
as an Immortal who is into Zen, but of course if you are
a typical English-speaking Westerner, you don’t give
a shit about Lu Tung Pin, which is a huge error in
your perspective on all this. However, Lu Tung Pin is
out of reach even for an eager reader in China, which gets
us back to the fundamental uselessness of this note
for just about everyone. Nevertheless, one or another of our extraterrestrial readers
might find this note unbelievably
fascinating if not hopelessly obscure, which leaves its possible
usefulness literally “up in the air”.
If you aspire to immortality or star-travel with a truly
strong inner calling to such things, you might benefit from
profound questioning of any assumptions you formed about the last note
that enabled you to end your considering of it and come to this note.
You not only do not understand how your mind
works but you are also unclear about what does or does not
motivate you or to what degree. Do you like being like
that? Do you want to do something real about
yourself? Yet even this last question is probably unanswerable
by you in spite of your empty bravado. Do what you will, truly
self-aware beings can see what you are really like even though
you cannot yet see yourself objectively. Maybe you will do
a little better in the next Session.
Good luck!
