According to Nagual Juan Matus:

“Nagual Shamans are vitally concerned with their past, but not their personal past.  For Nagual Shamans, their past is what other Nagual Shamans in bygone days have accomplished.  They consult their past in order to obtain a point of reference.  Only Nagual Shamans seek a point of reference in their past.  For them, establishing a point of reference means a chance to examine intent.”

The Lesson:

You are not a practicing member of a Nagual Shamans Lineage, so you are faced with the timeless ramifications of indirectly observed intent, such as when you read a book like Castaneda’s, The Power of Silence.  How, then, to convert indirectly observed intent into directly realizable intent without wandering into the futile byroads of associations of people around Nagual Shamanism aspirations or pretences?  What can you as an aspiring potential Free-lance Nagual actually get from all this?  It is obviously not just about reading Castaneda books and trying to control your dreaming energy double or dangerously explore the realm of Inorganic Beings.  All of this is about an inner alliance with Power which can aid you in developing your being and the freedom of your Spirit beyond the habits and norms of Spirit-suffocating dull normalcy or Flyer-ridden biological roboticism of modern so-called “Mankind”.

None of this means that valid and viable new Nagual Lineages are presently up and running in Mexico or the Americas just because all sorts of people have read Castaneda books and decided they are Nagualism Teachers.  Therefore, the mysteries and signposts of intent in the one, single Nagual Lineage we have indirect access to because of Carlos Castaneda, tends to become an ill-received transmission for inoperable and magically frustrated would-be Naguals among the vast numbers of titillated “volunteers” who at most have learned to do some “Magical Passes” from Castaneda’s Tensegrity Cult, which puts them on the same footing as those who have learned Tai Chi Chuan.

Intent-without-Lineage becomes a scattered brotherhood of occult futility disconnected from the strange person known as The Death Defier.  So, what is the real point of all this?  It is nothing less than your own connecting link with intent, for that and that alone is the way Power is or is not Empowering you in some way about all this.

Awakening to Intent, actually feeling Intent, is either directly haunting your personal existence or you are going nowhere in spite of your “interest” in all this.

In a very peculiar way, Nagual Seership is not just scattering itself to the four winds through Castaneda’s books, but it is also merging with an unseen transcendental whole which has no name.  That is your missing higher connection.
