The Lesson:

People want unusual direct experiences because such things would seem to give them some excitement in their boring lives or perhaps a social enhancement of their self-importance.  At the same time people are afraid of unusual direct experiences.  They are afraid that everyday people will consider them crazy or undesirable losers.  So they are in an inner contradiction over the possibility of unusual direct experiences, of witnessing miracles or suchlike.  But what most people never know, however, is that all direct experiences are unusual without exceptions.  Exploring this fact is a whole new shamanic world.
