According to Nagual Juan Matus:

“The average man’s connecting link with intent is practically dead, and Nagual Warriors themselves begin with a link that is useless, because it does not respond voluntarily.  In order to revive that link, Nagual Warriors need a rigorous, fierce purpose: a special state of mind called unbending intent.”

The Lesson:

Think of it: your “connecting link with intent is practically dead,” and joining the Castaneda Tensegrity Cult or doing Magical Passes type physical exercises will not revive it, just as reading Castaneda books and bragging about your “Nagual” concerns and interests on the Web will not revive it.  There is no real Power in your life because most of your spiritual interests in any number of areas or schools of thought-and-aspiration are spurious and confusing, inwardly weak, and mere hobbyhorse add-ons to your stupidly normal life.  Even when the Spirit tries to signal you in a blatantly obvious way, you don’t even get the message when you think, “Is that the Spirit signaling me?”, if you even bother to have a superficial awareness to that point.

Think about it: however titillated you are about Power, you are not linking yourself to Intent for real because of your self-enclosed self-importance and letting yourself be absorbed in your everyday concerns and worries plugged into your mind by your Flyer that eats all your energy so that nothing is left for the development of your Spirit.

As you are, you will never know what “Unbending Intent” really is.  You will even forget pretty soon that it is a crucial issue of Nagual Shamanism.  This means you are weak and conceited to the point that you believe you have “Free Choice” and “Think For Yourself” rather than having a Normalcy Gremlin on your back.
